Genetics
Genetics is a giant topic. I am always wondering how to organize my knowledge database...
I figured out 2 ways: Techniques-based or Biology-based.
In a Techniques-based view, I will classify all techniques I have learned into big topics, like Epigenetics, Sequencing and Molecular Cloning. It's a great way for me to get started, I can roughly write down what I have learned and organize it! But soon I feel this is not the best way to classify all my knowledge, as it grew much more.
So I have decided to move forward to a Biology-based view, classifying everything according to its biological structure: DNA, RNA, and Protein. For each small topic, like LINE-1 (in DNA-Genome-Noncoding-Transponsons), or H3K4me3 (in Protein-Nucleosome-Histone), I will organize my knowledge into 3 major topics: Sequencing, Biochemistry, and Imaging.
